At Specac we undertake design and manufacture of accessories and sample preparation solutions for Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-Ray Fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF), and near-infrared (NIR) process spectroscopy. We were the first to market a commercial diamond ATR solution with the Golden Gate, which was launched more than 25 years ago.
In 2015 Specac was purchased from Smiths Group by members of the executive team in partnership with a venture capital trust company, Foresight Group. Specac now employs around 80 people with offices in the USA and the UK and a network of distributors worldwide. In July 2019 relocated to a brand-new facility, the Specac Science & Innovation Centre.
Specac manufactures an extensive range of FTIR Accessory, IR Polarizer, and Pellet Press Products for Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy. These include ATR Accessories, Specular Reflectance Accessories, Diffuse Reflectance Accessories, Liquid Transmission and Gas Transmission Cells, Infrared and Terahertz Wire Grid Polarizers, Bench-Top Hydraulic Presses, KBr Pellet Presses, XRF Pellet Presses, Thin Film Making Kits, and Evacuable Pellet Dies.
Since its inception in 1971, Chemplex Industries, Inc. has remained steadfast in its original objectives in serving the x-ray spectrochemical sample preparation field.
These include sample cups and accessories, thin film sample supports, presses and fusion machines, for manufacturers such as Bruker, EDAX, Horiba, Rigaku, Spectro and ThermoScientific.
Chemplex products are manufactured in Palm City, Florida, USA, with the exception of fusion machines and related platinum ware. Major production equipment includes machinery for: plastic, ferrous and non-ferrous metal fabrication; precision honing; plastic injection moulding; metal stamping; thin-film conversion; parts separation, sorting and packaging.
Established in 1990, Pecsa Analytical is a South African based supplier of scientific accessories and consumables, from such well known manufacturers as Hellma, Pike Technologies, Specac, Chemplex and Buck Scientific.
